work in progress

detail from a painting ive been doing of a photo i posted a while back, im going old school w/ it, ive been working this under painting for a while now, im almost ready to start glazing, more photos to come as it progresses...

nostalgia

been feeling a bit nostalgic lately, so i pulled out some old flicks from providence, here's a few that feel representative of my experience of that strange little place

while i was digging through my photos i came across a couple shots i used for 2d class freshman year at risd, i dont remember the goal of the first one, but the assignment with the second one was to recreate a painting with photography, i think we did a damn fine job of recreating caravaggio's depiction of Judith and Holofernes in a dorm room with limited supplies

random flicks

just a couple of random shots from the past few months

a bit of Humpty History

found a bit of oakland history the other day, the giant foam head of the rapper Shock G from digital underground that was used in the video for "The Return of The Crazy" has been collecting dust in the garage of my building probably since the video premiered

sheep ranch

Back in November my roomate and I went to a birthday party for a friend of my family's. Ever year she holds this weekend long party in an old gold miner hotel up in this tiny town north of Stockton called sheep ranch. I've literally been going to this thing for my entire life.

one of the events of the weekend is a "cheap and delicious" wine tasting where each bottle has to be under 8 dollars. My father acted as the resident sommelier leading the crowd (which grew more rowdy with each passing bottle) through the tasting.

the winners were presented...

..and a feast ensued!
